Song of the moment #6

"Radio"

by He is We

He grew up just a little too fast,
Lost the need it’s all in his past.
I can hear him humming, from the other side of the room.
Guess he’s got rhythm, cause he hums everytime he’s blue.

Oh.
Radio,
Bleed me a melody.
That’ll make this boy cry,
Oh, oh, oh.
Radio,
Bleed me a melody.
That’ll make him wonder why,
He was so cold.

Broken glass and a pretty face,
Silent mourn full of hate.
Quiet face,
Silent mourn.
Screaming for consequence,
Bleeding for more.

Radio,
Bleed me a melody,
That’ll make this boy cry.
Oh, oh, oh.
Radio,
Bleed me a melody.
That’ll make him wonder why,
He was so cold.

Play him a song,
That reminds him of a time.
When he wasn’t tumbling, down, down.
Tumbling down.

Radio,
Bleed me a melody.
That’ll make this boy cry,
Oh, oh, oh.
Radio,
Bleed me a melody.
That’ll make him wonder why,
He was so cold.

Radio, Radio.
Radio, (Radio).
Bleed me a melody.
Radio, Radio.
Bleed me a melody.
Radio,
That boy’s got rhythm, cause he hums everytime he’s blue.
Radio, Radio.

This is a song I used to listen to many times. Its meaning is that music can heal the soul, and in this song she wants to heal this boys soul and his torment. Music can accomplish anything and I'm so glad it's such a big part of my life. I wouldn't be able to go far without it for sure.

Twitter Fiction

Finally, it is here! My twitter fiction is finally complete for all of you to see! Leave me your thoughts, comments and questions (: The regular black ones are the shorter ones that are one tweet long, the colored are longer than one tweet.

1.      "I'll never regret fighting for you," she said. Love was bright then. But as love shattered, regret seeped into her and created obscurity.

2.      The child watched his father walk out the door. He barely remembered his face. After months has passed, a man in uniform walked in that door

3.      The boy searched the face. It seemed familiar somehow. As he ran into the man's arms, the features matched the face of his father.

4.      "Will you love me forever?" she asked in her youth. She was beautiful. Hair flowing to her waist as waves on the ocean, chestnut in color.

5.      Her aqua eyes shone with a love that was so bright it lit the room with its brilliance. I turned to her with a smile I couldn’t keep inside

6.      "Yes," he answered, "I will never leave your side". Years passed and youth turned wise and frail. As disease descended, he lay with his love

7.      "Will you love me forever?" she asked with a knowing voice. I turned to her. No longer did her hair have its chestnut color.

8.      Silver and white now adorned her face. The youth had turned inward and her perfect skin was now wrinkled and pale. Many changes had occurred

9.      He took her hand and felt the no longer supple skin of youth but the calloused and worn hands of the old. They had been through so much.

10.  Though she looked different, those aqua eyes that he knew so well never left his sight. He had no hesitation when he whispered his answer.

11.  "Yes, I will never leave your side". As her eyelids dropped, he felt the life leave her body. He took her hand and closed his eyes.

12.  He let the life seep from his veins. The man’s soul joined his wife as they made their journey to heaven. They would never be separated.

13.  The rain descended, pouring from the heavens. Shouts increased. Fighting increased. As hope was found, the fight ended. Sunlight shone again

14 .The child’s squeals reached the ears of the mother. She turned to see the father on the ground tickling their child. A picture of bliss.

15.  I miss the way we used to be, but I won't regret what I've become. Her old friend then left the room, leaving her thoughts and her sight.

16.  An old woman stood at a cemetery. She stood among the graves and saw one she recognized. Andrew Reynolds. "I will see you soon my love".

17.  Jack looked to his date across from him. "Having fun?" she asked. He smiled.  It didn't reach his eyes. Would he call again? Probably not.

18.  The ocean air was salty in its taste. I sailed away into the sunset, never looking back at what may have once been my home.

19.  Her smile brightened the room just as the sun brightens the earth. The words I longed to hear exited her ruby red lips..."I do".

20.  The snow began to fall, tumbling onto my face and melting down my cheek. Winter was here. Maybe it was time for a vacation in Mexico.

21.  Her eyes, bright with life, as bright as my own we're filled with laughter. She stuck her tongue out at me. Best friends know you too well.

22.  I walk forward, my feet leaving imprints in the sand as I move forward. Where am I going you ask? I don't know. I'm lost.

23.  Moving on with life is hard. The honorary caps being lifted into the air tell me that life must go on even if you're undecided.

24.  The smell of fresh bread reached my nostrils as I walked by the bakery. I stopped in my tracks and retreated. Just one taste would be okay!

25.  "Everything happens for a reason". This is a common philosophy used by many. Then why do I have this disease? Answer me that.

26.  I bit my lip and the taste of blood landed of my tongue. I looked over the edge. "You ready?" "No". I jumped. Bungee jumping is crazy!

27.  The snowflakes clung to her eyelashes as we walked through the snow. Her blue eyes grew playful as she laughed. A snowball hit my face.

28.  The child looked up with innocent eyes. Those beautiful grey eyes held so much potential for love, dreams and childlike fantasies.

29.  I turned to the woman in the back. "I would love to adopt this boy," I sang. I knelt down so I was eye level with the child.

30.  "What's your name?" I asked in what I hoped was a motherly tone. He was sucking on his thumb. His gaze returned to mine.

31.  His thumb retreated from his mouth. "Kyle," he whispered in a childlike tone. He guided his thumb back to his mouth. I smiled brightly.

32.  "I'm Rebecca Stanley. Is it alright if I adopt you today?" I questioned. Kyle's answering smile completed my heart.

33.  The emptiness was now full. I reached out my hand and gave him the opportunity to take it. Slowly, his hand began to reach for mine.

34.  I took his small hand into my own. He must be only three years old; poor thing. I brought him up into my arms and kissed his small forehead

35.  As we left the room, I knew I would do anything to protect this child; this new life that I would love more than my own.

Writing Reflection #9 -Twitter Fiction

Twitter Fiction

My twitter fiction of course won’t be done until I actually post them. Even as I’m typing them on the computer I’m editing them so they are below 140 characters, or extending them so they can be put onto more than one tweet. I’ve written for sure over 30 tweets but I’m not entirely sure if I will use them all. I’ve written about 36 as of late. I chose to write some VSS but also some in between. Some of my stories are 7 tweets long while others are one, two or three. They change dramatically when I type them on the computer because I have to edit them to 140 characters. When you’re writing them down on paper, you aren’t counting as you go so it makes it a bit more difficult for you to get the exact affect you want your story to have. It takes time. I chose to use both because I wanted to be able to show more than one type of story. It gave me the freedom to be able to make them however long as I wanted them to be. Sometimes the stories just wrote themselves. Some things I still have to add into my stories are more tweets for dialogue and double check to make sure I have every type of imagery even though I’m sure I have them all. I love the challenge of having to have all these different elements in these little stories. It makes them trickier to write but also more fun. I’ve thought of some images for specific stories but not for others. They may change as I edit them or I may add different images than I thought I was going to put in in the first place. You’ll have to wait to find out exactly what I have planned. My stories have come out a lot better than I thought they we’re going to be originally. My imagery has been working well and I’ve been surprisingly good at sneaking it in here and there. My character development has also worked to my advantage in one of my stories. These we’re aspects that I originally thought we’re going to be the most difficult. The aspect that needs the most work is making them 140. I’ve always been one to write too much, so shortening my stories has for sure been a challenge, but it has been a fun one. I’m still wondering how we are going to end up putting them up and in what fashion but I’m sure it will be an interesting experience. Creative writing has never failed me when it comes to being interesting. This has been a learning experience for me and I’m truly enjoying it.

Old Times.

Bigcitydreams

You say we're both little people and you like it that way
But in time I'm gonna put this body to shame (and grow old)
Wear a suit like my old man
Pack up all my things and get my ass out of town

We've got it good
Whether you like this town or not
I know it's small but with a big head
it's bound to get hot
In the summer
But the summer is a bummer
If you can't leave
This pathetic excuse for a town

That holds all your memories
A lifetime of crushes and your broken dreams
To be anywhere but here
But baby anywhere is away from me

If you got it all figured out
Then what is there to shout about
This midwest town is gonna miss you
Just go ahead and work it out
But first come on and let it out
Scream it shout tell everybody that you're gonna leave

In about one year you'll have it all figured out
These big city dream are what you're about
Walking like strangers among these states
Only time will tell how long I can wait

We've got it good
Whether you like this town or not
I know it's small but with a big head
it's bound to get hot
In the summer
But the summer is a bummer
If you can't leave
This pathetic excuse for a town

That holds all your memories
A lifetime of crushes and your broken dreams
To be anywhere but here
But baby anywhere is away from me

If you got it all figured out
Then what is there to shout about
This midwest town is gonna miss you
Just go ahead and work it out
But first come on and let it out
Scream it shout tell everybody that you're gonna leave

Me again oh so casually
Did you take the hit for me or the home team

If you got it all figured out
Then what is there to shout about
This midwest town is gonna miss you

This is a song close to my heart. It's like he's letting her go so she can follow her dreams. This happens to many people. They let the one they love go so they can follow their dreams. I think that takes a true man or woman and my love goes out to anyone who's ever had to do it.

Scary times.

Sometimes, the fear consumes
the regrets seep in
and your heart descends into obscurity
You feel like nothing's going to be alright
Like the will to smile is no longer in play
Your heart in heavy in your chest
and the tears are flowing freely

The time to look around has come
kindness can surround you
friendship can surround you
Love is all around
And light comes back into your life
The fear disapates
the regrets no longer plague you
Your will to smile is returned
and you leave your footprints in the sand
As you move forward
with that smile on your face
and the will to move on

Writing Reflection #8

Writing Reflection #8

This Newspaper black out poetry was actually one of my favorite assignments from this class. It was an interesting was of writing and the transformations we’re amazing. How these regular everyday articles we’re able to be transformed into whatever the writer wanted it to be was spectacular. Some challenges I had was connecting my whole poem together. I would be able to write the beginning and then the ending but then I would need to add something into the middle that connected it all together. That was a big challenge in some of my poems. Also, trying to get one started was difficult. I was never able to just go to the next article in the paper and write a poem from that. I would need inspiration from some of the very first words to make it work. My succeses we’re getting my beginnings and endings right off the hop. I always loved what I found for all three of my poems and they all tended to work out in the end. I never had to use a single letter from one word and then another letter from a different word. My words we’re generally whole. That was a success of mine.

What’s unique about this writing is that you can’t just add a word when you need it. You must find it in the articles words. It was frustrating at times when you had a perfect sentence in your head and then had to change it because it wasn’t in the article. It’s also very creative because to be able to take an article, read it and make it something completely your own is amazing. That was a factor I loved.

I learned that as a writer, you can create something that’s your own practically out of anything. Writing comes in all shapes and forms. I also learned that I’m a lot more creative than I thought was but I love new challenges. I wonder what would happen if you tried doing this blackout poetry in a book or even tried to make another novel out of a novel. That would be something interesting to see.

Reading Reflection #8

Living Dead in Dallas

Charlaine Harris

Pgs. #180-291

This book was a very good one, I’d say even better than the last so I’m hoping as I continue this series it will get even more intense and suspenseful. It’s as if it cut off one part of the story until the next part was done. In my opinion it was separated into three parts.

Some questions that I have resemble my last response questions. Like who killed Lafayette?! It literally drove me crazy that she let that mystery stew until the end of the book when it was finally answered, even though he was killed literally in the 20 pages. It ended up being some of the towns folk who we’re a little bit too…exhilarated in their activities? It was a surprising turn of events for sure. Another question I had was why was Eric so willing to help Sookie? Of course we know why Bill does, because he loves her, but Eric doesn’t seem capable of that type of emotion. He seems more to be a slave to his lust than anything. I’m hoping to get a better read on his character in the books to follow. It’s a curiosity of mine.

This book ended up being slightly predictable, which was sometimes a good thing,  other times not so much. We all knew that Sookie going to the fellowship was a bad idea and that she was going to be captured, then rescued. This is how many books turn out. Obviously with this being a series, they can’t have something really bad happen to Sookie now can they? They obviously can’t kill off the main character in the second book. I however did not see this sex club to be made up of just humans. Of course there are some people who are sick in the mind and get carried away with their own sexual adventures but I still suspected there would be a vampire among the group. It took me by surprise. Shows that maybe I’m pretty prejudice.

I’m commenting on the growth of Eric and Bills characters. Eric has begun to grow on me I must admit, with him helping Sookie and actually going to Dallas to protect what’s his, it shows he still carries some emotion from his human years. Bill is also getting more depth to him. You get to see into more of his past at the end of the book and also his feelings on being a vampire in Dallas. He craves his own kind. That’s something Sookie will have to deal with on her own.

I’m making a text to television connection. This is something I have yet to do. The character of Eric really reminds me of Damon Salvatore from the Vampire Diaries. At the beginning of the show, Damon was void of emotion. He was a bad boy and didn’t care about anything. Eric is shown the same way. But as the show and the book progress, both characters begin to show some emotion and appear more human at times. Also, both Elena and Sookie seem to have a weak side for bad boys.
More to come! xoxo

Feel Happy Song of the Day

Don't Worry be Happy

Bob Marley

Here's a little song i wrote,
you might want to sing it note for note,
don't worry, be happy

in every life we have some trouble,
when you worry you make it double
don't worry, be happy

dont worry be happy now
dont worry be happy
dont worry be happy
dont worry be happy
dont worry be happy
aint got no place to lay your head,
somebody came and took your bed,
don't worry, be happy

the landlord say your rent is late,
he may have to litagate,
dont worry (small laugh) be happy,

look at me im happy,
don't worry, be happy

i give you my phone number,
when your worried, call me,
i make you happy

don't worry, be happy

aint got no cash, aint got no style,
aint got no gal to make you smile
but don't worry, be happy

cos when you worry, your face will frown,
and that will bring everybody down,
so don't worry, be happy

don't worry, be happy now...

don't worry, be happy
don't worry, be happy
don't worry, be happy
don't worry, be happy

now there this song i wrote
i hope you you learned it note for note
like good little children

dont worry be happy

listen to what i say
in your life expect some trouble
when you worry you make it double
dont worry be happy
be happy now

dont worry, be happy
dont worry, be happy
dont worry, be happy
dont worry, be happy
dont worry
dont worry be happy
don't worry, don't worry, don't do it,
be happy, put a smile on your face,
don't bring everybody down like this

don't worry, it will soon pass whatever it is,
don't worry, be happy,
i'm not worried

This is my feel good happy song of the day. It makes you feel so much better about your day and it's so right when it says that sometimes, you must stop worrying and just be happy because if you keep worrying, you'll just stress yourself out. Hope it makes your day as it has mine (:

A little extra clip of another song that makes my day (: same artist but this is from the movie Shark Tale! Not a great video but its the only one I could find

Venting Session

Love is such a powerful thing. But love can be so irrevocably blind. Abusive realtionships can be of two descents; emotional & physical. Some believe that physical is the worst, but emotional is just as scarring as the physical. People no longer listen to the ones they love. They are so wrapped up in the other person. "The first cut is the deepest", many people believe this, it has even been used in songs. I believe in this as well. It's one of the hardest things to do, to either break up with your first love or to be let go by your first love. Especially if they are considered more than one first. Comfort can also be a factor in this. If you have been with this significant other for a long period of time, it makes things even harder because you are so comfortable in their presence. Your lives are so tied together, in friends, family, and schedules. Something that people need to consider is, is it truly worth it? If this person is no longer putting in the effort you need or giving you the attention you need, why stick around because of the comfort? I've heard that "It's not that easy", but it truly is. It gives you the chance to find happiness with someone else who will take the time to appreciate you. No one deserves emotional abuse, it will damage you emotionally and can seriously kill your self-esteem. It will make you think that you don't deserve better or that you won't find better and that is never true. So ladies, truly think about whether these types of guys are for you. Take the time to find a man who will always appreciate you and not give up when he knows you'll never leave. Every woman deserves so much better.

Short story, twitter style.

"I will never regret loving you", she said.
At that time the love was bright.
Then as the love was broken,
she walked away with regret seeping into her heart
and it descending into obscurity.
