Now What? -TBL project

Now What?

Now that I’ve made my list I question, well now what? Now it is time to begin to complete this list. Number fourteen on my list is to get a tattoo. Well, in May of this year, I’ll get my chance! My family is a strange bunch, about 5 years ago, my grandma got a butterfly tattoo on her shoulder and has wanted to go back to get a second tattoo ever since. When I told my grandma that when I was old enough, I would get a tattoo as well, she decided that she was going to wait so that she could go with me. Now I also have another companion joining us. My mother was going to get a tattoo for her 40th birthday, but couldn’t decide what to get and chickened out, this was almost three years ago. Because of this fact, we are now making this a family event and my mother, grandmother and I are all going to get tattoos for my birthday! (Well also for my mother’s birthday because it is two days before mine) Getting a tattoo isn’t as easy as some people may think, whatever you decide to get will be on your skin forever unless you decide to spend the money to get it removed later on in life. It’s taken me years to decide. One piece of my childhood that I’ve yet to give up is Walt Disney movies. They’ve always took me away from reality and made me believe that even when things get bumpy, they will find a way of working themselves out in the end. Things will work out the way they are meant to be. Disney movies make you believe in yourself, in love, in your dreams and in everything good. Therefor because of this, I’ve decided to get one that represented Disney as a whole. Now that may sound easy but it really isn’t. There are TONS of Walt Disney movies and they all have such a great message. Finally, I came across a movie called The Robinsons. Now I didn’t think I would like it, it isn’t necessarily a classic but after I finally finished watching it, I loved it. This little boy, when he had lost all his belief, conquered the odds and saved his family, his future and more. His motto was “Keep Moving Forward”. At the end of the movie, it ended with words on a black background. It read:

“Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long. We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things… and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.”

-Walt Disney

This was a quote from Walt Disney himself. Every Disney movie, every lesson learnt, I owe to that man, so why not dedicate my tattoo to him. My tattoo will be the Disney castle, with the words “Keep Moving Forward” underneath. It will most likely be on my back. It will remind me that through all the hard times, we just need to keep moving forward.

Everything happens for a reason.

The question pops up everywhere. What would you do if you had one day left to live? There are so many answers and so many dreams left unfulfilled. When this question was asked, I pondered on it. There are so many things in the world to do, to see and to learn. So why not make a goal; a list of things to accomplish before you die. Nothing is impossible. This list may seem as if it’s easy to create but it’s not. It makes you think of everything you want to accomplish, your curiosities, the things you wish you could do. These lists could go on forever. I created one of these lists. During that process, I had to dig down deep inside myself and ask myself so many questions. There are so many things to see in the world, so many different cultures and so much history. There were many things on my list that involved traveling so I could learn and relive that history. I had to ask myself, what about hobbies? Why can’t I paint or knit or know five languages? Why not learn? When you make your own lists, you’ll have to ask yourself these types of questions. What are your hearts true desires? What do you wonder? What can you do to help the world? This is my list. 101 things I want to do, to see and to learn. I also made a video of a couple of my list items to make it visually appealing. It has a joyous tone to it, to remind myself that I’m attempting to accomplish my dreams. Maybe it will give you some inspiration, help you create your own list, make you think. When it comes to being human, you only have this one life to live. You are only a single blip in time, so why not make your life memorable: not only to everyone else… but to yourself.

Song of the moment #6

"Some Nights"
by Fun.

Some nights I stay up cashing in my bad luck
Some nights I call it a draw
Some nights I wish that my lips could build a castle
Some nights I wish they'd just fall off

But I still wake up, I still see your ghost
Oh, Lord, I'm still not sure what I stand for oh
What do I stand for? What do I stand for?
Most nights I don't know anymore...
Oh, whoa, oh, whoa, oh, whoa, oh, oh,
Oh, whoa, oh, whoa, oh, whoa, oh, oh

This is it, boys, this is war - what are we waiting for?
Why don't we break the rules already?
I was never one to believe the hype
Save that for the black and white
I try twice as hard and I'm half as liked,
But here they come again to jack my style

That's alright;
I found a martyr in my bed tonight
She stops my bones from wondering just who I am, who I am, who I am
Oh, who am I? Mmm... Mmm...

Well, some nights I wish that this all would end
'Cause I could use some friends for a change.
And some nights I'm scared you'll forget me again
Some nights I always win, I always win...

But I still wake up, I still see your ghost
Oh, Lord, I'm still not sure what I stand for, oh
What do I stand for? What do I stand for?
Most nights I don't know... (oh, come on)

So this is it. I sold my soul for this?
Washed my hands of that for this?
I miss my mom and dad for this?

(Come on)

No. When I see stars, when I see, when I see stars, that's all they are
When I hear songs, they sound like this one, so come on.
Oh, come on. Oh, come on. Oh, come on!

Well, that is it guys, that is all - five minutes in and I'm bored again
Ten years of this, I'm not sure if anybody understands
This one is not for the folks at home;
Sorry to leave, mom, I had to go
Who the fuck wants to die alone all dried up in the desert sun?

My heart is breaking for my sister and the con that she call "love"
When I look into my nephew's eyes...
Man, you wouldn't believe the most amazing things that can come from...
Some terrible lies... ah...

Oh, whoa, oh, whoa, oh, whoa, oh, oh,
Oh, whoa, oh, whoa, oh, whoa, oh, oh

The other night you wouldn't believe the dream I just had about you and me
I called you up but we'd both agree

It's for the best you didn't listen
It's for the best we get our distance... Oh...
It's for the best you didn't listen
It's for the best we get our distance... Oh...

This song has been my feel good song of the week. Helps me get up in the morning and get ready for bed at night. It's an upbeat song that both my mom and I love and I hope you enjoy (:
